This is a 2 part workshop: 

The 1st one is hands-on introduction on 3 journaling styles: bullet journaling for organisation, reflective journaling for self-awareness, and creative journaling. 

The 2nd part is dance and movement therapy (DMT) where we will be focusing on the mind body connection to bring up aspects of the self pertaining to our mental and physical health.

1. Welcome & Overview (10 mins)

2. Bullet Journaling (25 mins): Learn how to organize your life and track habits using this efficient system, with hands-on practice for creating layouts.

3. Reflective Journaling (25 mins): Dive into journaling to process emotions and gain clarity, including guided reflective prompts and writing.

4 Creative Journaling (25 mins): Experiment with art, doodles, and imaginative prompts to express yourself creatively.

We will be participating in activities that help in building awareness and expression through creative movement.

The aim will be to delve into an integrative mind body experience by engaging creatively with our selves and others.

Workshop Facilitators

Bhargavi Raman

Facilitator: Journaling Workshop

Bhargavi Raman is a practising expressive arts therapist (MA-EMT 2024, SMART EXB 2022, FECAT 2020) and experiential learning facilitator based in Bangalore. She works one-on-one with adults and adolescents and with groups through intermodal expressive arts and mindfulness.

She is trained in trauma-sensitive practice, has a Jungian orientation, and holds a queer-affirmative and social justice stance. She is passionate about promoting the role of arts in mental health and well-being. Lawyer by education (NLSIU 2013), she transitioned into experiential learning and mental health she has a daily practice of yoga, movement and meditation.

Sukriti

Facilitator: Dance & Movement Therapy

Sukriti is a trauma-informed psychologist and a dance/movement therapy facilitator. Having done her post graduation in Clinical Psychology, she has also completed certifications in Dance/Movement Therapy (CMTAI) and Trauma Informed Care (TISS). Having an experience of almost 8 years, she has worked with children and adolescents of various needs via schools, NGOs and intervention centers through counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy. She currently has her own private practice through- Mentally Yours, and also offers consultancy through other mental health organizations, catering to individuals across the ages: from adolescents to adults. The work from mind-body practices, relational and trauma approaches is also at the centre of her therapeutic framework, which is eclectic and queer friendly. She is also the Course Co-Director cum faculty for CMTAI’s flagship DMT program, holding a deep interest in group work which is extended to conducting workshops and trainings with schools, universities and corporates.

No prior experience is needed! This workshop is designed for beginners and will be guided step by step, making it accessible and supportive for all participants.

Yes, the workshops are open to adults of all ages.

What time should I arrive for the workshop?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to get seated and settled. The organising team from SoulUp will also be there to answer any questions you have about the workshop and SoulUp in general :)
