Growing up as an introvert in an extroverted family, it was difficult for me to be open about my feelings and emotions. In 2021, had to witness a dear friend of mine, who I loved, die due to multiple organ failure. My last memory of him was him on a ventilator, looking smaller than life. Lost my grandmother too a few months after as she had a cardiac arrest and I held her hand as it went cold, helpless to do anything.
It took me a long while to come to terms with these two losses. What helped me was being there for my mother and sister when I realized they too were suffering, and having them be there for me in return. It's a privilege I had in my grief but I know not everyone does. I would like to help with that in my own small way.
