I was in the Army for 10 years and come from a Military family. I grew up with changing schools and homes in every two years as my father moved. I have always been oriented to sports and leadership roles, was in NCC in college. The process of joining the Army was challenging for me which required a lot of focus, routine and discipline. Over a period of time, I built resilience to face the challenges that came my way which included distortive body image. All because of my supportive family and friends.

Being in the Army myself I have witnessed near-death situations, lost my military friends in combat, and been in roles to support families of the deceased which has given me an in-depth understanding of dealing with stress, PTSD and coping mechanisms. Now a Yoga instructor and a career counsellor, these exposures are continuing and adding to my experience. I believe conversations are powerful tools for life, and that’s why I look forward to being your Peer!
