Elayraja has extensive experience in areas such as de-addiction, psychopedagogy, depression, anxiety disorders, marital and family distress, stress management, psychosis management, childhood-related problems, concentration issues, cognitive retraining, sleep-wake distress, suicidal thought management, job burnouts, lack of motivation, trauma, and psychosexual counseling.

As the proprietor of Kavithalayaa Counseling Centre in Ambattur, Chennai, Elayraja also serves as a consultant for Army Public School, Innersight Counseling Centre, 1 to 1 Help Service, and Revamp Hospital. Elayraja has presented two papers: "Assessment of Depression Among Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Complications and Without Complication" (published in the International Journal of Diabetes in Developing Countries, July-September 2015-35(3)) and "Positive Effects of Counseling on Smoking Cessation Among Subjects with Type 2 Diabetes."
