My experiences have lead me to question my thoughts and actions regularly and forced me to be honest with myself at the very least. I've supported my partner through recovery from substance abuse. My partner whom I've loved for more than a decade, but also struggled with through an addiction phase of 5 very difficult years. I learnt the need for self care and preservation to be able to help others. It also opened my eyes to truly unconditional love, if not consistently then at least in moments.
I've also lived through losing a loved one to self harm. I believe I'm still grieving the loss and coming to terms with it.
My journey through motherhood has been the biggest learning experience of my life. It made me shed the image I wanted to portray to the world and has tested my beliefs and my patience, while opening door to a very new, elemental emotion.
