I went through this journey with eyes wide open yet unaware of the storm brewing within me. The onset of depression caught me off guard in November 2018, a storm that reshaped the landscape of my life. Initially naive about mental illness, I unwittingly neglected its early signs until it engulfed me.

Prioritizing my health over my career was a monumental struggle, a battle waged within myself. But with the unwavering support of my family, I took the first steps toward healing. It was a journey fraught with challenges, with every day a skirmish against my inner demons against the pervasive stigma that shrouds mental health in our society.

In those two years, I lost more than just my equilibrium; I lost my physical health and sense of balance. Yet amidst the wreckage, I found something invaluableā€”I found myself. I am a work in progress, navigating the tumultuous waves of emotions, striving to accept and understand them.

And then came another trial, another crucible to endureā€”my divorce, a harrowing ordeal that left me grappling with PTSD. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I refused to be consumed by the flames of adversity. With steely determination, I faced the narcissistic abuse head-on, reclaiming my voice and my identity.

I chose to break the silence, defy stigma, and share my journey with the world. Through mental health blogging, I've become a beacon of hope, illuminating the path for others traversing similar terrain. With over 20 blogs published on various mental health platforms, I've made it my mission to destigmatize mental illness and empower others to seek help without shame or fear.

The journey is a testament to understanding and to the indomitable human spirit. Though scarred by the battles, I've become stronger and more resilient than ever. I will continue to raise my voice, to advocate for mental health awareness, to stand as a testament to the power of perseverance and the triumph of the human spirit.
